DEPOSITS, RETURNS & CANCELLATIONS
All purchases are final and cannot be cancelled, exchanged, nor returned. Deposits are not refundable nor can they be applied for credit on other merchandises. All merchandise must be paid in full at the time of shipping or delivery. No garment can be altered unless it is paid in full. Alteration cost is not included in the price of garment. Modern Bridal Shop is not responsible for conditions or events beyond our control. We are not responsible for merchandises that is not picked up by the customer. Due to the nature of the industry. Dresses originate from many sources. Rush cuts and extra fabric charges are determined by Modern Bridal Shop. Fees to accommodate special orders. Customers are responsible to make sure that Modern Bridal Shop has received the customer order on time. To process an order, Modern bridal shop must receive at least 50% or more of the total amount of the order. Unless other arrangements for final payment have been made, Modern bridal shop will automatically charge the remaining balance when the merchandise is shipped out. We are NOT responsible for any over drafts, it is your responsibility to make sure the funds are available when we charge the remaining balance. Customers are responsible for determining the sizes. Sizes 18 and over is extra cost for wedding gown starting at $50.00, bridesmaid, prom dresses start at $20.00 and up. Payments should be done by credit cards or money order only. We ship by UPS/US Post Office. Insurance is optional with an additional charge.
We are a full service bridal shop. If you add up the entire inventory from the entire manufacturer we carry in every size and colors, we would have to stock over thousands of gowns. Regular clothing shops can take returns because they carry inventory. When you return a dress, they can put it back on display and sell to someone else. Bridal gowns, bridesmaid dresses, are very different and every bride wants different styles and colors. The chance for us being able to find another bride who wants the exact same style, size and color of dress is very slim to none. This is also why manufacturer themselves will not accept returns. You will likely find the same common practice in all bridal shops. At Modern Bridal Shop, we take great pride in our merchandise and services. We thank you for your patience and understanding as we attempt to implement new policies and procedures to better serve you.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
1) How do you get the dresses at such a low price and where do the dresses come from?
We order direct from the same bridal manufacturers as any other bridal shops. We do have a retail store so we are familiar with the designers and their policies. We sell only new, first quality merchandise. All gowns are special ordered for you and are original, brand new gowns. They will come to you with the original manufacturer tags. We sell in volume through Modern Bridal Shop and are able to make a lower profit on our internet sales. Also, the amounts of services you receive are much less than through our retail shop. Because of these two things, we can offer the same merchandise to you at a much lower price. Our brides receive the savings.
2) How does the order process work?
The quickest and most efficient way to place an order is to use our secure online order shopping cart. If you prefer, you may call us at (407)-228-1761. You can also print out the order form and fax it to us at (407) 228-1762 Pick the way that works best for you. You will need to have the manufacturers name, style number, color, sizes and shipping address, as well as your wedding date when you order. We accept all major credit cards Visa, MasterCard, American Express or Discover. You may either pay in full or pay a 50% deposit with the balance charged at the time of shipping.
3) How long does it take to order a dress?
Delivery times vary by manufacturer, but it generally is 4-6 months for wedding gowns, 10-16 weeks for bridesmaid's dresses. However there are times when the manufacturers have stock and delivery could be within 2-3 weeks. This is the date we receive from the manufacturer and is not guaranteed. It is just an estimate. Manufacturers do not guarantee their delivery dates. However, most manufacturers will meet this date. There are many instances when gowns arrive early. It will depend on when the manufacturer next cuts your style and color. We do inspect all merchandise when it arrives to our store. We will charge any balance due at that time. All items are shipped by UPS. Insurance is an optional additional cost.
4) How do I pay for my gown?
You may either pay in full at the time you place your order or pay a 50% deposit with the balance charged at shipping. Modern bridal shop accepts all major credit cards including Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express.
5) What happens if there is a problem with my dress?
All merchandise is received by us and inspected before we ship it to you. We carefully inspect each and every garment. However, should you discover a manufacturer's defect, please contact Modern bridal shop within 3 days of receipt and all necessary steps will be taken to make it right for you. The manufacturers only allow us a very limited period of time in order to alert them of problems, so we must strictly enforce this 3 days period.
6) Why doesn't Bridal apparel fit the same as regular day clothes?
Bridal apparel, Bridal gowns, bridesmaids, flower girl dresses and formal wear are international sizing and not US sizing and will fit smaller then regular day clothes. They generally fit approximately one and occasionally two sizes smaller. For instance, if you were to wear a regular dress size 6 then you will wear an International (bridal size) size 8 or 10 (two sizes). Due to the global economy most formal wear and bridal apparel are produced on an international sizing scale.
7) How do I know what size to order?
Many of the manufacturer's size charts are available online and can be found on our size chart page. Please review the size chart and choose the appropriate size for you and/or your attendants. You will need this information when you place your order. If you need help, we will be happy to give you our professional opinion but we do not take responsibility for the size chosen. If you are unsure of the size to order, please review our measuring tips or find a local shops in your area to try on sample dresses to see what size fits you the best. PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THAT GOWNS ARE NOT CUT TO SPECIFIC MEASUREMENTS AND ALTERATIONS ARE ALMOST ALWAYS REQUIRED TO ACHIEVE A CUSTOM FIT. If a style is a two-piece but has one style number, you must order the same size for both the top and bottom. If you are ordering separates and you have a different style number for the top and bottom, you may order different sizes for each piece.
8) CAN I TRY ON A GOWN AND SEND IT BACK IF IT DOES NOT FIT?
Due the industry, the manufacturer will not take back a dress due to inappropriate sizing. Keep in mind that most of these gowns are made to be altered up or down at least 1-2 sizes. You will be able to be "fit" into your gown, or find local shops around your area to try on dresses first to be sure what size fit you best.
9) Can I return my gown once I receive it?
All sales are final once they are placed with the manufacturer. It's important to be sure of the style number, color and sizes when ordering. In limited cases, we may be able to make changes to the order if the manufacturer has not started the cutting process. This is usually only in the first 48 hours and sometimes not at all. We carefully inspect every order to make sure the merchandise is in perfect condition and is what you ordered. If you receive your gown and there is something wrong with it, contact us so that we may take care of the matter. Our manufacturer accepts returns in cases of incorrectly delivered or damaged dresses.

10) How to measure?
We strongly recommend having your measurements taken by a professional seamstress. Measurements should be taken in the undergarment you plan to wear with your bridal gown or bridesmaid dress. If you cannot get professional measurement, we strongly advise that you do not take the measurements yourself. Have someone help you and follow the guidelines below. Please note that Modern Bridal Shop cannot be responsible for measurements taken outside of our salons. You are responsible for ordering the right size.
Bust Measurement
Measure the bustline at the fullest part of your chest. Stand naturally with your heels together. Position the tape so it covers the widest part of the back and the fullest part of your chest. Let your arms rest by the side of your body. Keep a thumb in the inside of the tape. Record the measurement in inches.
Waist Measurement
Place your hands at your natural waistline, which is above your bellybutton. This is where the tape should be positioned. Stand with your stomach at its natural position. Leave a little room by keeping a thumb on the inside of the tape. Do not pull the tape tight. Record the measurement in inches.
Hip Measurement
Stand naturally with your heels together in a relaxed posture. If you are measuring for a sheath dress, position the tape around the fullest part of your bottom. If you are measuring for an A-line dress, position the tape around the fullest part of your hip. Leave a little room by keeping a thumb on the inside of the tape. Do not pull the tape tight. Record the measurement in inches.
Dress Length
If you are 5'9" or taller with the heels you plan to wear with the bridal gown or bridesmaid dress, our designers strongly recommend that you order an extra length dress. An extra length dress is typically 5" longer than the standard length dress. Most designers charge a little more for extra length but the charges vary. When asking for a price quote, please let us know whether you need an extra length and we will give you the correct quote for your chosen designer. Some tea-length dresses can also be ordered in floor length; call for pricng.
Hollow-to-Hem Measurement
Hollow-to-hem is a specific length measurement used for bridal gowns only. Some designers offer the option to have a gown cut to a particular length for certain bridal gown designs. This is a difficult measurement to take. Fortunately, it is not needed for bridesmaid dresses, and only needed for a few bridal gowns. If the bridal gown you are ordering requires this measurement, we strongly recommend using a professional seamstress experienced with bridal gowns.
The hollow-to-hem measurement is taken from the depression at the base of the neck just above the collarbone to the hem. When taking this measurement, you will need to account for the fullness of an A-line or full-skirt gown by moving the tape forward away from the body, at the hem. The tape should be pulled out according to the fullness of the skirt. You will need to take the measurement with the exact heel height you will be wearing. Standard hollow-to-hem typically is 58 inches although it varies between designers.
Matching Measurements to Size
Once you have taken your measurements, see the appropriate designer's size chart under "Size Charts" on our website. These charts show how measurements are mapped to the designer sizes. It is important to note that the designers cut bridal gowns and bridesmaid dresses smaller than regular sizes. Hence, you might find yourself ordering larger sizes than you usually wear. These measurements are taken to determine the closest size to be ordered. The bridal gown or bridesmaid dress is not custom made to exact measurements. Bridal gowns or bridesmaid dresses typically require final alteration. If your measurements indicate one size for the "bust" and a different size for the "waist/ and or hips", we suggest ordering according to the largest measurement. Gowns and dresses can easily be taken in if they are too large.

I have just recieved my 4 bridesmaid dresses from modern bridal shop and I am writing to say how delighted with them I am. At first I was very dubious about ordering my dresses from the internet, especially as I live in the Scottish Highlands and the shop is based in Orlando. However with the excellent prices I felt it worth the risk to proceed with my order. The initial communication I had with the company led me to choose this shop over the others who offered the same dress. I used the online size charts and ordered my dresses using the pay half on ordering and half on dispatch scheme. Very soon afterwards I recieved confirmation emails and a postal letter. Even when I emailed a couple of times, just to make sure everything was alright with my order, the staff were helpful, patient and quick to respond. I recieved my dresses this weekend and although I had to pay ?5 in import tax to recieve them I still made huge savings. The exact same dresses were much more expensive locally, and mine were also delivered earlier than the local shops could guarantee. The dresses are perfect- and fit extremely well, all require shortening but need very few alterations other than this. I cannot recommend this company highly enough- I got the perfect bridesmaid dresses, for an excellent price and delivered quickly! It is with great pleasure that I write this E-mail. I have had in mind
for years what I wanted my wedding dress to look like, and after searching for
months in magazines, stores, and online, I found "my" dress on your website. At first I was VERY reluctant to even consider ordering a dress online
without being able to try it on first; however, with the help of your customer
service department and your size chart, I hesitantly decided to be bold and
ordered a dress through you. I requested a "super rush" for delivery and the dress came 4 days earlier
than I expected. You can only imagine how excited I was to open the box! I
could not put the dress on right away because I was concerned that I would be
disappointed if I had ordered the wrong size. I had to wait a while to work
up the nerve to try it on. When I finally got up the gumption to find out how it fit I said a prayer
and held my breath. As I gingerly stepped through the bodice, I began to get
teary-eyed. With a huge sigh of relief, I stood in front of my mirror and
cried. I'm still in disbelief that it fits as well as it does. The only
alteration I will have to make is shortening the length and adding the
spaghetti straps sent with it. I am very pleased and very thankful that this has been such a positive
experience. My wedding is in September and I have put my dress on
several times trying to convince myself that 1) it's actually here, 2) it fits
as well as it does, and 3) it's mine! It is hanging in my bedroom and I find

Body: I researched the problem of finding a bridemaid dress knowing I would not be able go to a bridal shop prior to the week of my mothers wedding. (I live in Europe, so it simply wasnt an option.) It is easy to find internet information about different bridemaid dress designers, but not easy to find online purchase options. The few that exist general have a longer lead time even than bridal shops that one would have to visit in person. Modern Bridal Shop had a number of dress designer lines I was interested. The internet site contained all relevant information. When I phoned they gave clear, concise information on the dresses, whether the were available in my size and color, and how long it would take. I had different shipping options (even the possibility of shipping to Europe!) I was lucky that the dress I decided on was available on a very short time scale. Modern Bridal Shop promised a 7-10 day delivery and the dress arrived as promised. They really covered all the bases. (Perhaps online pictures could have been better with more links to designer sites.) If I shop online or phone a vendor, I want all the relevant information easy to find and readily available. Modern Bridal Shop had the dresses, size charts, all relevant info.

Bridal apparel, wedding gowns, bridesmaid, prom dresses and formal wear are international sizing and not US sizing and will fit smaller then regular day clothes. They generally fit approximately one and occasionally two sizes smaller. For instance, if you were a regular dress size 6 then you will wear an International (bridal size) size 8 (one size) or 10 (two sizes). Due to the global economy most formal wear and bridal apparel are produced on an international sizing scale. Note that custom alterations are to be expected by the consumer, especially in the length of the gown. We have set up a sizing chart to help you determine what size will be best for you.
